Shon Dempsey

Shon Dempsey is the Assistant Airport Manager at the Frederick Municipal Airport in Maryland and is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) through the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). He holds a Master of Commercial Aviation from Delta State University and has professional experience spanning both general aviation and commercial service airport environments. Shon’s background includes airport operations and administration, capital improvement planning, federal and state grant administration, emergency management, and regulatory compliance. Prior to his current role, he worked in airport operations and security at the Aspen–Pitkin County Airport in Colorado, where he supervised airfield security, served as Incident Commander during emergencies, and managed airfield operations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Chapter of AAAE and has been identified as an Aviation Emerging Leader by AAAE.

In addition to his airport management career, he is a certificated private pilot and holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate. Shon has previously spent time as an adjunct professor for Eastern Kentucky University’s aviation program. He credits programs and scholarships for Native American students as a key building block in his career.
